Welcome to my Walk in the Sun Photo Blog!

Please feel free to take a stroll. Check out what grows in the Maine woods and enjoy the local landscapes! don't forget to stop and smell the flowers!

I finally replaced the camera that was stolen from me!

Thank you so much to those generous friends who donated what they could for me to get a camera to replace the one that was stolen from me when I was in for a Mammogram! My mother gave me an early birthday present and sent the money I needed to purchase the new camera as she knows how much my camera and photos mean to me... Just in time for spring! For those who had donated money to this worthy cause, please know that the money was spent on the camera. I bought some lenses ( UV and Polarizing), a spare battery, and a warrantee. (No AA batteries on this one, all ion. Not really what I consider a good thing as it only takes like 300 photos). I was able to purchase the newer model, the SX30IS, just before everyone sells out their last ones. It has a 35x zoom which is about 10 more than the last one. Best Buy was the lucky store to get my business and I am glad I went there over Walmart (who no longer was going to carry them) as Best Buy really knows what they are talking about. The woman that helped me knew everything I needed to get my new camera up and running (and I knew what I wanted). I wouldn't have gotten that kind of service at Walmart and I know they don't carry any of the other things. I am excited to get some good bird photos, but so far (first day out) no one wants to cooperate.
